Version 2.8.0+
These are the release notes for the v2.8.0 release of Witboost.
Please refer to the official documentation for a more in-depth overview of the released features.
Features
Policy flags aggregation across the marketplace
Across the marketplace, policy evaluation flags associated with a Product or Consumable will now include evaluations belonging not only to itself, but also to its descendants in the Consumable hierarchy. For example, a Product associated with a policy validation error, parent of a Consumable associated with an other policy validation error, will show a total of 2 validation errors in its flag indicator.
Discard Deployed Components
A new action DISCARD has been introduced to transition a component to the NOT DEPLOYED target status. Witboost will mark the component as undeployed without contacting the Tech Adapter. No actual action will be performed on the target technology.
Check the documentation for additional information.
Business Driven Discovery
This release introduces two major features to enhance business-driven data discovery in Witboost:
- Business Concept Map - An interactive visualization in the Marketplace that allows users to explore organizational business terminology and discover data products through business concepts
- Knowledge Graph Manager (KGM) - A service that unifies business knowledge from multiple systems into a single, queryable knowledge graph
Business Concept Map
The Business Concept Map provides an intuitive, visual way to explore your organization's business language and discover data products through business terminology rather than technical names.
Key Features
Visual Concept Exploration
- Interactive graph visualization displaying business concepts as nodes with relationships
- Concept Schemes representing collections of related business concepts (e.g., HR Vocabulary, Banking Vocabulary)
- Business Concepts representing specific business terms (e.g., Performance Management, Recruitment, Liquidity)
- Visual relationships showing hierarchical (broader/narrower) and associative connections between concepts
Business-Driven Discovery
- Find products through business meaning - Discover data products by exploring business concepts rather than searching by technical names
- View related products - See all products associated with any selected concept
- Navigate related topics - Explore interconnected business areas and discover related concepts
Search & Navigation
- Full-text search across concept labels, synonyms, and definitions
- Expand/collapse views to navigate between high-level categories and detailed concepts
Knowledge Graph Manager (KGM)
The Knowledge Graph Manager (KGM) is a new Witboost service that acts as an integration and access layer for business knowledge, collecting concepts from multiple sources and exposing them through a unified semantic interface.
- Multi-source integration - Collects business knowledge from glossaries, catalogs, spreadsheets, databases, and other systems
- Source adapters - Extensible adapter architecture for connecting any knowledge source
- RDF/JSON-LD support - Standards-based knowledge representation using RDF and JSON-LD formats
Integration with Business Concept Map
The Business Concept Map queries KGM to:
- Retrieve SKOS concept schemes and concepts
- Execute SPARQL queries for graph traversal
- Perform full-text searches across concept metadata
- Link products to business concepts through exact label matching
